Wildlife Services Technician

Job Summary / Scope

Plateau Land & Wildlife Management, Inc. is part of a growing family of companies who provide a broad spectrum of services to clients who want to protect, preserve and enhance their land. The Wildlife Services Technician will actively participate in the delivery of many land and wildlife management services offered by the Ecological Services Division. Wildlife Services Technicians work closely with personnel across many departments including other Wildlife Services Technicians, Ecological Services Biologists, and Administrative staff, and sales staff to assure work is carried out on client properties in a productive and efficient manner.

Wildlife Services Technicians experience a high level of client interaction and must provide exceptional customer service. Wildlife Services Technicians are expected to make sound and timely decisions, be resourceful, follow through on commitments, communicate effectively, instill trust, and be adaptable to different situations. A courteous and positive attitude when interacting with our clients and the public is expected at all times.

The Wildlife Services Technician will work out of the Boerne, Texas office typically utilizing a company vehicle. A reliable means of transportation to the Boerne office is required. Any work performed using a personal vehicle for business-related reasons will be reimbursed at the current IRS rate. Travel to the corporate office in Dripping Springs, Texas will be required at various times for training, quarterly staff meetings, and assistance in service delivery.

Plateau Land & Wildlife Management, Inc. will conduct a background check and request driving records for candidates under consideration before hiring.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Delivery of wildlife management service(s) to client properties in the form of installation and/or servicing of rainwater collection systems, wildlife feeders, nesting boxes for songbirds and other services.
  • Conduct treatments for Imported Red Fire Ants.
  • Perform brush management by way of herbicide application or mechanical means (chainsaw) for exotic, encroaching, invasive, and/or non-native tree and plant species.
  • Participate in Deer Surveys (traditional spotlight/game camera/distance sampling).
  • Pre Delivery – Stage equipment, data collection forms, supplies, deliverables, and ready fleet vehicles for delivery of service on a daily basis.
  • During Delivery – Complete on-site documentation by means of data collection forms, capture of digital images and GIS data using handheld GPS units and tablets.
  • Post Delivery – Processing, saving, and filing of documentation gathered in the field on a daily basis.
  • Communication with clients and co-workers in an effective manner to ensure prompt, accurate service.
  • Warehouse inventory and resupply.
  • Work across all departments within the company to achieve objectives.
  • Provide other administrative support as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding clients and their property.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours or beyond 40 hours/week.
  • Ability to handle occasional long drive times to and from client properties.
  • Excellent stamina is required. This position requires extended periods of heavy physical labor, often in irregular terrain and various weather conditions.
  • Off-road driving with four-wheel drive vehicles.
  • Proficiency at loading and securing loads to utility trailers with trailer towing/backing experience.
  • Experience with power tools and chainsaws.

Preferred Qualifications

  • First Aid/CPR/Wilderness First Aid Training Certification.
  • Ability to use a handheld GPS and iOS tablet.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe software.

Administrative Assistant - Sales Team

Job Title: Administrative Assistant – Sales Team

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Assist Region Managers with various administrative tasks such as answering and recording of emails, phone inquiries, and funneling sales leads to the appropriate Region Manager.
  • Assist Landowner Account Manager with the creation and distribution of quotes and service agreements.
  • Assist the Sales Manager with various administrative tasks such as assigning and scheduling follow-ups, scheduling meetings, recording meeting notes, report generation and distribution, and others as needed.
  • Help Sales Team maintain relationships with existing customers.
  • Identify additional sales and customer service opportunities while in communication with existing customers.
  • Help build and maintain relationships with Appraisal Districts and other industry partners as needed.
  • Ensure clients are receiving exceptional customer service by collaborating with members of all teams throughout the organization.
  • Help maintain client database.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in an Administrative capacity including but not limited to database management, customer engagement by phone, filing, and intra-office communication
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat necessary
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication as well as excellent interpersonal skills

Job Summary / Scope

The Human Resources Manager serves a growing family of companies headquartered near Dripping Springs, Texas which provide a broad spectrum of services to clients who are primarily landowners, many of whom want to protect, preserve and enhance their land. This position will provide leadership and direct responsibility for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources function for the family of companies.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Participates as member of the management team and strategic HR partner to understand the organization’s business and financial objectives and develop HR programs to support these goals.
  • Conducts all aspects of recruitment and hiring of employees including, but not limited to, writing and posting job advertisements, resume collection, interviewing, and new hire on-boarding for the family of companies.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings to ensure there is strong operations to support the business and its various departments.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures family of companies’ compliance pertaining to all personnel matters.
  • Oversees and performs all aspects of benefits administration to include, but not limited to vendor management, analysis and reporting, employee enrollment and change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Responsible for managing general liability, professional liability, worker’s compensation, and malpractice insurance for all companies.
  • Develops and administers various human resources plans and procedures for the family of companies’ personnel including, but not limited to, department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures.
  • Implements and annually reviews compensation program and updates as necessary, creates and rewrites job descriptions, conducts annual salary surveys and develops budget.
  • Responsible for performance management process and revisions to process as necessary.
  • Handles employee relations counseling and exit interviewing.
  • Maintains company organization charts.
  • Manages company-wide training and development goals and monitors career path programs. Structures, develops, leads, and conducts management and employee personnel training for maximum effectiveness on as needed basis.
  • Maintains Human Resource Information System and compiles and provides reports from database.
  • Manages the reception area to ensure effective telephone and mail communications both internally and externally to maintain professional image.
  • Responsible for and oversees the facilities day-to-day operations of all branch offices.
  • Supervises the maintenance and alteration of office areas and equipment, as well as layout, arrangement and housekeeping of office facilities.
  • Facilitate processes to enhance internal cohesion and shared company culture.
  • Oversees employee company events and recognition programs.
  • Must work with outside service providers and professional consultants, staff, information, and materials from all departments.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

  • A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four (4) to six (6) years of Human Resources experience, or seven (7) years of experience in the Human Resource field, or any similar combination of education and experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration.
  • Demonstrated leadership and strategic HR planning ability.
  • Problem solving and resolution at both strategic and functional level.
  • Strong relationship builder and ability to garner trust and confidence as an HR leader for the organization.
  • Conflict management skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint).
  • Exceptional written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects on deadline.
  • Adaptable and able to tolerate changes in priorities and competing demands.
  • Able to work independently as well as with teams while monitoring outcomes.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Hands on experience in performing budgeting functions and compensation planning.
  • Knowledge of risk management.
  • Knowledge of Amcheck iSolved or other HRIS.
